Code & Licenses
What can and can't we bring to the competition - as far as pre built anything (ie server configurations or code from public Github repositories)
What licenses are accepted? Is LGPLv2 and MIT okay? Better question might be what licenses aren’t accepted?

Tim,
Below is your answer!
Licenses: As the license landscape changes rapidly and new license structures are frequently created, GlobalHack does not specifically list what licenses are or are not permissible. The goal of GlobalHack is to build software that can be used by as many people as possible for the lowest price possible. The more restrictive the license you use, the lower the "value" of your submission. However, sometimes the best tools available come with more restrictive licenses and the functionality of the additional features created with such tools makes up for the more restrictive license. You will be expected to use your best judgment with this trade-off. Also, note the three judging criteria: Design/User Experience, Creativity, and Execution.
For server configurations, public Github repos, etc.: All are permissible if they meet the requirements of 6(a)(i-iii) of our Rules. Find the full set of rules at bit.ly/gh6rules
And if you haven't gotten your ticket, head to bit.ly/globalhack6 and register!
Thanks,
Delia
